May 2025 Service Changes

Southside

Route 1 Granby Street – An early morning trip inbound will be added at 4:35 a.m. from Ocean View/Duffy’s Lane traveling to Downtown Norfolk Transit Center (DNTC) Monday through Friday to improve the connection between Routes 1 and 20. The early morning trip is scheduled to arrive at DNTC at 5:05 a.m. to connect with the first outbound Route 20 at 5:15 a.m.

Route 3 Chesapeake Blvd – Run time and schedule adjustments.

Route 6 South Norfolk – Run time and schedule adjustments.

Route 8 Tidewater Drive – Run time and schedule adjustments.

Route 11 Colonial Avenue – The layover at Newport Avenue and Rhode Island will be eliminated.

Route 22 Haygood – Route 22 will terminate at Shore Drive/Pleasure House Road and no longer provide service to Joint Expeditionary Base (JEB). Route 36 will provide service between Shore Drive/Pleasure House Road and JEB to improve passenger transfer connections.

Route 27 Diamond Springs Road – Schedule adjustments.

Route 30 Atlantic Avenue – Implement seasonal service.

Route 31 Aquarium/Campground – Route 31 will be extended from Rudee Inlet to Atlantic Avenue/18th Street every 20 minutes.

Route 33 General Booth Boulevard – Route 33 will be modified to provide service between Tidewater Community College (VB Campus) and Parks Avenue/19th Street year-round and no longer provide service to Atlantic Avenue/68th Street. During the summer season (May – mid-October), Route 33 will operate every 60 minutes Monday through Thursday and every 30 minutes on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (City of Virginia Beach request).

From mid-October – May, Route 33 will operate every 60 minutes Monday through Saturday. No Sunday service will be provided.

Route 35 Bayfront – Implement seasonal service.

Route 36 Holland Road – Route 36 will be extended from Shore Drive/Pleasure House Road to Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek (JEB) to improve passenger connections. Run time adjustments will also be made, and the alignment will be revised to operate inbound and outbound via Jeanne Street traveling to and from Pembroke East transfer location.

Route 41 Cradock – Route 41 will be extended from Victory Crossing to the Portsmouth City Jail on Elmhurst Lane to provide service during visiting hours Monday through Friday from approximately 4:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. (City of Portsmouth request).

Route 45 Portsmouth Boulevard – Run time and schedule adjustments.

Route 47 High Street – The first inbound trip will start at 5:39 a.m. Monday through Friday to improve the connection with Route 45 at 6:30 a.m. at Crawford/County Streets. Run time adjustments will also be made.

Route 58 Bainbridge Boulevard – The schedule will be modified in order to restore transfer connections with other routes at Liberty Street and Seaboard Avenue.

Route 90 (Ferry) – Implement summer ferry schedule.

Northside

Route 103 Shell Road – Route 103 will service the timepoint at Washington Avenue and 49th Street when servicing Newport News Shipyard. The deviation is made on trips departing Hampton Transit Center at 5:15 a.m. and 5:45 a.m.Route 104 Marshall Avenue – Route 104 will be modified to operate a consistent alignment and no longer follow the after 7:30 p.m. routing on weekdays, Saturdays, and all day on Sunday.

The route will instead follow the same alignment all day seven days a week. Outbound the route will operate via Marshall Ave. (R) 74th St.(L) Roanoke Ave.(R) 76th St. – Lassiter Dr.(L) Martha Lee Dr.(L) Weaver Rd. – 79th St. (R) Orcutt Ave.to 81st St. Inbound starting at Orcutt Ave./81st, (R) Mercury Blvd.(R) Roanoke Ave.(L) 79th St. – Weaver Rd.(R) Martha Lee Dr.(R) Lassiter Dr. – 76th St.(L) Roanoke Ave.(R) 74th St. (L) Marshall Ave. over regular route.

Route 106 Warwick Boulevard – Run time and schedule adjustments.

Route 107 Denbigh Boulevard – Schedule adjustments.

Route 108 Bland Boulevard – Run time and schedule adjustments.

Route 114 Mercury Boulevard – Run time and schedule adjustments.

Route 403 Buckroe Shopping Center – The morning and afternoon trips will be adjusted to support the 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. shift at Newport News Shipyard.

Route 405 Willow Oaks – The morning and afternoon trips will be adjusted to support the 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. shift at Newport News Shipyard.

Route 415 Denbigh Fringe – The morning and afternoon trips will be adjusted to support the 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. shift at Newport News Shipyard. Route 415 will service limited bus stops along Warwick Boulevard.

Route 430 Denbigh Fringe – The morning and afternoon trips will be adjusted to support the 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. shift at Newport News Shipyard. Route 430 will service limited bus stops along Warwick Boulevard.

Route 961 Downtown Norfolk Transit Center/Wards Corner/Hampton Transit Center/Newport News Transit Center – The detour routing via Emancipation Drive to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to Mallory Street to I-64 will become permanent.

Route 964 Newport News Transit Center/Smithfield – The morning and afternoon trips will be adjusted to support the 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. shift at Newport News Shipyard. The 3:40 pm trip from NNTC will be extended to North Yard.

Route 966 Silverleaf Station/Newport News Transit Center – The morning and afternoon trips will be adjusted to support the 7:00 am – 3:30 pm shift at Newport News Shipyard.

Route 967 Military Hwy Station/Newport News Transit Center – The morning and afternoon trips will be adjusted to support the 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. shift at Newport News Shipyard.

Route 972 Virginia Beach/Newport News Transit Center – The morning and afternoon trips will be adjusted to support the 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. shift at Newport News Shipyard.
