HRT, HOT91 Team Up for “Tracks on Tracks” Dance Party, Jan. 28

NORFOLK, Va. – How about some music that moves you?

Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) is teaming up with WNSB-FM (HOT91) for “Tracks on Tracks,” a live soul-themed dance party on Jan. 28 onboard a regularly scheduled Tide light rail train.
Beat the winter blues as DJ Bee spins tunes on the round trip between Newtown Road Station and EVMC/Fort Norfolk Station. The party train – featuring décor to match the theme – leaves promptly at 5:20 p.m. from Newtown Road Station. The train will then depart EVMC/Fort Norfolk at 5:56 p.m. for the return trip, arriving back at Newtown Road at 6:22 p.m. Space is limited, so be sure to arrive early.

Free parking is available at Newtown Road Station. If you’re closer to another station, feel free to join the party at any Tide stop. Follow the regular light rail schedule for the train leaving Newtown at 5:20 p.m. Transit tickets are required. Round-trip tickets are $4.50 and available day-of at any Tide light rail station. Listeners of the radio station’s Fresh Start morning show weekdays between 6-10 a.m. can win free passes for the party.

“HRT is delighted to host HOT91 to as we celebrate music through the connectivity of transit,”
said William E. Harrell, President and CEO.

“We are excited to partner with HRT for Tracks on Tracks, a collaboration that enables us to spread music and joy beyond the airwaves,” said Toni B. Jones, WNSB’s marketing and community engagement director. “This partnership reflects our shared commitment to public transportation and community.” The event is sponsored by the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) as part of a grant to promote public transit and generate ridership during winter months.

Looking for something to do after the ride? Groove down to any of Downtown Norfolk’s restaurants accessible from MacArthur Square, Monticello, or York Street/Freemason stations. Downtown Norfolk’s Restaurant Week offers specials at participating restaurants.
