- Departing Harbor Park – Customers will board shuttle buses at a temporary bus stop on the Main Street sidewalk (parallel to the light rail)
- Departing Waterside – Customers will board shuttle buses at a temporary bus stop at Atlantic Avenue and Waterside Drive (on the side of Waterside Garage)
Elizabeth River Ferry Waterside Dock Construction
Starting Tuesday, September 8, the Elizabeth River Ferry stop at the Waterside Dock will not be serviced due to ongoing construction by the City of Norfolk until further notice. Ferry service to Norfolk will board/disembark at Harbor Park. Once passengers arrive at Harbor Park, they will be directed via signs along accessible walkways to a shuttle bus that will take passengers to Waterside. Shuttle departure information is as follows:
Customers may also use The Tide light rail station at Harbor Park. From there, passengers may take The Tide westbound to downtown, or passengers may access the Elizabeth River Trail from the ferry stop. Fares for the ferry will be honored on The Tide light rail so only one ticket is needed for the transfer. Proof of payment on light rail includes showing a pass, round-trip ticket or one-way ticket receipt.
Customers wishing to use the ferry for the Norfolk Tides baseball games will still need to show their ticket for that day’s game for a free ride, but may now board at either ferry stop in Portsmouth. Due to the added round-trip travel time, the ferry will operate about every 45 minutes.
Naval Station Norfolk: Paratransit Service Restriction
Due to enhanced security restrictions at Naval Station Norfolk, effective Monday, March 2 until further notice, Paratransit will not enter the base. Paratransit customers must use the Base Express for travel through the gates or on the base. Customers may board/disembark at any Base Express stop. The off-base stop is the Naval Exchange. Customers should expect delays at all local military installations.
