Hampton Roads Transit is hiring for multiple opportunities, from administration to operations. Several of the current openings come with a service bonus of up to $5,000.
As a public transit agency, bus operators, light rail operators, and mechanics are the backbone of what we do at HRT and starting pay is more than $20/hour. The operators and mechanics enjoy paid training, benefits, and an opportunity to save for retirement.

Joshua Kneece started as an operator and is now a Bus Transportation Supervisor. He understands the importance of public transportation. “I feel like we’re a lifeline for a lot of people in the Hampton Roads community,” said Kneece. “We’re critical for making those connections so people can see each other.”

All career fairs will be held in the Boardroom at our Norfolk Headquarters at 509 E. 18th Street, Building 4, Norfolk, VA 23504 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Career fair participants will be able to fill out an application, undergo a brief screening, and have an on-the-spot interview.
