HRT hosting Southside Community Resource Fair
NORFOLK, VA - Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) is hosting its second Community Resource Fair and first in Norfolk on April 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Norfolk Transit Center located at 434 St Paul’s Blvd, Norfolk, VA 23510. This free event will connect customers to local community agencies.
HRT staff will be on hand to answer questions and provide information on its services. Additional participants include Norfolk Community Services Board, Norfolk Human Services, Verizon Forward ACP, YWCA South Hampton Roads, Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore, and TRAFFIX Commuter Options.
“We know connecting our riders with vital resources in a space that is convenient for them will make a positive impact on our community” said William E. Harrell, President and CEO of HRT.
Last month HRT held its first-ever Community Resource Fair at its Newport News Transit Center where dozens of customers connected with peninsula-based resources. The resource fairs have kicked-off a number of community engagement events HRT is hosting this spring such as HRT Earth Day Community Cleanup, on Friday, April 21.
