Hampton Roads Transit Community Clean-Up in Honor of Earth Day!

April 15-22, 2024

Littering contributes to polluted water, unclean streets and communities, and is dangerous to wildlife and humans. The HRT Community Clean-Up is a great opportunity for citizens to give back to the Hampton Roads community. Volunteer organizations, corporate volunteer groups and civic leagues are encouraged to sign-up and spend one-hour cleaning-up trash at one of our regional bus stops within our community.

This year’s clean-up is the week of April 15- 22, 2024. Simply fill-out the form to sign-up in advance, either choosing your bus stop location or we can assign one within your city. The clean-up time is determined by the individual group. Please always be mindful of any bus and vehicle traffic around the stops when picking up litter and try not to interrupt passengers use of amenities when cleaning up around shelters and benches. Bring your friends and family out to celebrate Earth Day and make a difference!

Volunteer groups will be confirmed via email by HRT staff. If you need clean-up supplies (trash bags and disposable gloves), please email jaldegon@hrtransit.org to coordinate a pick-up, as they will be available while supplies last.

Don’t forget to post your pictures to social media and tag Hampton Roads Transit or email us at socialadmin@hrtransit.org to be featured!
