Silverleaf Reopens

The Silverleaf Transit Center (SLEAF) reopened on October 1, 2024. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Silverleaf is located at 4300 Commuter Drive. Customers (particularly those living in Virginia Beach) may visit Silverleaf to purchase fare tickets, register for service alerts (text, email, or voicemail) or receive HRT IDs (Student Freedom, Discounted Fare, or Paratransit ID). Customers may also visit Silverleaf for information on HRT’s rideshare service.

Discounted Fare ID

Discounted fare (authorization to use bus, light rail, and ferry services at a reduced rate) is available for those who meet specific eligibility requirements.

• Customers with disabilities will need their physician to complete the appropriate sections of the Discounted Fare application. This form must be completed by a licensed physician (MD) or (DO). Applications completed by a Physician Assistant (PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Nurse Practitioner (NP) will not be accepted.
• Seniors (65 years or older) do not have to complete the application.
• Medicare card holders do not have to complete the application. Simply bring a Government-issued Medicare card and a State/Government/Military ID.

Paratransit ID

Customers who are approved for Paratransit services, are also eligible for free fare on HRT fixed-route services (Bus, Light Rail, Ferry).

Eligible customers desiring a Paratransit ID must bring their HRT Certificate of Eligibility for ADA Paratransit Services with a matching State/Military/Government ID.

Student Freedom Pass

The Student Freedom Pass provides customers ages 13-17 with unlimited free rides on HRT’s bus, ferry, and light rail services. Customers must complete the application here and bring valid proof of age:
