
Alexis Majied serves as Hampton Roads Transit’s chief communications officer, responsible for overseeing marketing, communications, public outreach, transit advertising and business development activities.
Mrs. Majied has over 20 years of experience in marketing and communications. Her career began in the promotions department at WAVY-TV 10 (NBC), followed by her first stint at HRT, where she was instrumental in developing communications strategies for launching The Tide light rail and Metro Area Express (MAX) services. She held marketing communications roles in the construction equipment and healthcare industries prior to returning to HRT as chief communications officer.
Alexis is a member of the Hampton Roads chapters of Women in Transit, Public Relations Society of America and the American Marketing Association. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Virginia Transit Association, Girls on the Run Hampton Roads, Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast and VisitNorfolk. She was recognized as a “Top Forty Under 40” by Inside Business in 2022, “Top Forty Under 40” by Mass Transit in 2024 and a NextGen honoree by Coastal Virginia Business, also in 2024. Alexis also belongs to the LEAD757 class of 2023 and LEAD Virginia class of 2024.
Mrs. Majied holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and a Master of Arts degree in Media and Communications, both from Norfolk State University as well as a Master of Science degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from West Virginia University.
