HRT Services Delayed until 7 a.m. on Tuesday
NORFOLK, Va. – Due to expected icing conditions overnight, Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) will not begin service until 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 9.
All bus, light rail, ferry, Paratransit and ridesharing services will begin at 7 a.m. All trips scheduled to run prior to 7 a.m., including the 900- and 400-series bus routes, are canceled.
The Elizabeth River Ferry will begin from High Street in Portsmouth at 7 a.m. with 30-minute service.
Also at 7 a.m., Paratransit will be available for first pick-ups, the Base Express serving Naval Station Norfolk will start, and bookings will begin for OnDemand ridesharing in Newport News and Virginia Beach.
HRT will operate a regular schedule throughout the remainder of the day, although customers are advised to expect delays and impromptu detours.
