How to Take Transit to the Tides – Hampton Roads Transit

How to Take Transit to the Tides

Whether by rail or ferry, it’s easy to catch a free ride to Norfolk Tides games this season. With limited on-site parking at Harbor Park, fans are encouraged to plan ahead and try transit for easy travel to and from the ballpark.

Hampton Roads Transit, the City of Norfolk and the Norfolk Tides baseball team are teaming up this season to provide free rides on The Tide light rail and the Elizabeth River Ferry for every home game. Ride the Tide from Park-and-Ride Lots All Season Long

The Tide light rail makes frequent stops at Harbor Park Station, just yards from the stadium entrance. Save gas and parking fees coming to and leaving the ballpark.

A map of all the parking and transit options can be found here.

Fans can park for free at three park-and-ride lots and one city-operated garage adjacent to Tide stations and hop on for the short ride to the stadium:

Fans can also park in Downtown Norfolk to catch The Tide from the Monticello Station or Civic Plaza Station, or park in Dominion Tower ($6) and take a short walk along the Elizabeth River Trail to the stadium.

Fans coming from the western portions of Hampton Roads can take the Elizabeth River Ferry from North Landing in Portsmouth for free to and from the Harbor Park Landing for every game. Free rides are available only to the Harbor Park Landing, not to Waterside Landing. Free street parking is available in Portsmouth after 5 p.m. , and Portsmouth City garages are free all-day Saturday/Sunday, nightly 6pm – 8pm and City Holidays

Guests just need to show their game ticket if prompted when boarding. Complimentary rides are available on the light rail two hours prior to and after each game and one hour prior to and after each game on the ferry.
