Christmas Holiday Service

On Christmas Eve, Tuesday, December 24, 2024, all services (bus, light rail, ferry, Base Express, paratransit, and ridesharing services) will operate on a regular schedule, except for the Routes 403, 405, 415, 430, 966, 967, and 972, which will not operate. Also, the specialized trips (Routes 414, 921, 961, and 964) will operate, but they will not serve the Huntington Ingalls Newport News Shipyard. Administrative facilities, transit center information booths, and the Customer Service Call Center will be CLOSED.

On Christmas Day, Wednesday, December 25, 2024, most Hampton Roads Transit bus routes will operate on a regular Sunday schedule, but some bus routes will operate on a modified Sunday schedule, meaning service will end earlier (see Gohrt.com for details). The light rail, Base Express, paratransit, and ridesharing services will operate on a Sunday schedule. The ferry will not operate.  Administrative facilities, transit center information booths, and the Customer Service Call Center will be CLOSED.

Due to the closure of the Huntington Ingalls Newport News Shipyard for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, the Routes 403, 405, 415, 430, 966
967 and 972 will not operate Monday, December 23, 2024, through Wednesday, January 1, 2025. These affected routes will resume operation on Thursday, January 2, 2025.
