Fares
Hampton Road Transit Fares
All HRT buses, trolleys and ferries are equipped with electronic fareboxes. Fareboxes accept cash, coins and HRT magnetic-stripe farecards. We cannot make change so please have exact fare when boarding. Most of the farecards are discounted so they save you money.
Purchase Your Pass from a Ticket Vending Machine (TVM)
Ticket vending machines (TVMs) are a convenient way to purchase the right fare card to meet your needs – from local to MAX services, as well as shuttles and ferries. The TVMs even sell reduced fare passes for seniors and persons with disabilities. Click here for TVM locations.
