The Tide Light Rail
The Tide will run every 15 minutes until 5:00 p.m. As crowds get larger, HRT will put more trains into service through most of the evening. Expect trains to arrive every 5-6 minutes at the stations.
Tide Guides will be assisting on the platforms to make sure all passengers are boarding safely. For details, see “How to Ride The Tide“.
Besides the Ticket Vending Machines, which accept debit and credit cards, you may purchase tickets from HRT Customer Service at tent areas near the Newtown Road and Military Highway stations. These tickets will be CASH SALES ONLY.
Shuttle buses will be located at Newtown Road and Ballentine/Broad Creek Station to help with the overflow of passengers.
THERE WILL BE NO SERVICE AT THE HARBOR PARK STATION FROM 5:00 – 9:00 P.M.
Elizabeth River Ferry
The Elizabeth River ferry will run every 30 minutes until 5:00 p.m. Additional ferries will be added around 3:00 p.m., departing from both Portsmouth docks at High Street and at North Landing, and dropping off passengers at Waterside. After 3:00 p.m. the ferry service will run as follows:
- From the High Street dock to Waterside
- From the North Landing dock to Waterside
THERE WILL BE NO FERRY SERVICE BETWEEN THE HIGH STREET AND NORTH LANDING DOCKS DURING HIGH TRAFFIC TIME.
HRT Customer Service staff will sell CASH ONLY tickets at the High Street and North Landing docks.
HRT WILL HAVE ENHANCED FERRY SERVICE WHEN THE PARADE IS OVER, BUT PLEASE ALLOW EXTRA TIME TO RETURN TO YOUR DOCK.
• MAX Route 961 – this route comes from the Newport News Transit Center, stops at the Hampton Transit Center and ends at the Downtown Norfolk Transit Center.
• MAX Route 960 – this route comes from 19th and Baltic at the Oceanfront, stops at the Newtown Road Station and ends at the Downtown Norfolk Transit Center.
