Hampton Roads Transit Delayed Service Start

On Tuesday, December 9, 2025, due to adverse weather
conditions, Hampton Roads Transit will not begin service until
7:00 AM. All bus, light rail, ferry, paratransit, and ridesharing
services will begin at 7:00 AM. All trips, including the 900 and 400
series routes normally scheduled to run prior to 7:00 AM, will be
canceled.
The Elizabeth River Ferry will begin from High Street in
Portsmouth at 7:00 AM with 30-minute service.
Paratransit will be available for first pick-ups at 7:00 AM.
The Base Express serving Naval Station Norfolk will start at 7:00
AM.
Bookings for OnDemand ridesharing in Newport News and
Virginia Beach will be available starting at 7:00 AM.
Throughout the remainder of the day, HRT will operate a regular
schedule although customers are advised to expect delays and
impromptu detours.
