Hampton Roads Transit Free Public Wi-Fi Internet Access Use Agreement

By using Hampton Roads Transit’s wireless network, the wireless user acknowledges s/he is of legal age (18), has read and understands, and agrees to be bound by this Agreement.

Hampton Roads Transit provides free wireless Internet access via an open, unsecured wireless network. It is strongly recommended that the user does not use our network to transmit personal, financial or legal data. It is not possible for Hampton Roads Transit to protect the user against malicious theft or interception of such data transmitted over the wireless networks. Hampton Roads Transit does not publish or control, and is not responsible or liable for, any third-party information, content, services, products, software, downloads, or other material that can be accessed through the network.

The wireless user agrees to not use the wireless network for any purpose that is unlawful or otherwise prohibited, or in any manner that could damage Hampton Roads Transit’s property or others' property. The wireless user is fully responsible for her/his use. The user may not use the network in any way that interferes with, harms or disrupts our system or other users.

The user is responsible for setting up their equipment to access Hampton Roads Transit’s wireless network. Hampton Roads Transit does not provide technical assistance to assist wireless users connecting to our network. Hampton Roads Transit is not responsible for any changes made to settings and cannot guarantee hardware will work with our wireless connection. Hampton Roads Transit will not assume responsibility for the safety of equipment or for harm done to configurations, security, or data files resulting from connection to Hampton Roads Transit’s wireless service. Virus and security protection is the responsibility of the wireless user.

The wireless network service is provided at Hampton Roads Transit’s sole discretion. Access to the network may be blocked, suspended, or terminated at any time for any reason without notice.

Hampton Roads Transit is providing the network on an "as is" and "as available" basis, with no warranties whatsoever. In no event will Hampton Roads Transit be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary or any damages associated with use of the network. No advice given by Hampton Roads Transit or our representatives shall create a warranty. The user assumes all responsibility and risk associated with use of the network.
