September Service Improvements

Effective September 1, 2008

MAX- 960 –SCHEDULE CHANGE

Monday-Friday peak (5am-9am and 3pm- 6pm) service frequency will change to 30 minutes and offpeak (9am - 3pm and 6pm -9pm) to 60 minutes. Service frequency will be 60 minutes all day on Saturday and Sunday. Please see September 960 schedule.

MAX- 962 –SCHEDULE CHANGE

Monday-Friday service frequency will change to 30 minutes from 5am-10am and 3pm- 8:55pm. Please see September 962 schedule.

MAX- 967 –SCHEDULE CHANGE

There will be additional trips added to provide bi-directional service in the morning and evening hours. In the morning; three trips departing NNTC at 6:00am, 6:30am and 7:00am with stops at the following locations; Chesapeake Center Mall and Greenbrier Park and Ride to Indian River Park and Ride. In the afternoon; three trips departing Indian River Park and Ride at 5:30pm, 6:30pm and 7:00pm with stops at the following locations; Greenbrier Park and Ride and Chesapeake Center Mall to NNTC. ROUTE 7 – NAVAL STATION NORFOLK TOUR

Route eliminated due to new Federal Transit Administration regulations.

ROUTE 30 – ATLANTIC AVENUE

Starting September 2 route will be reduced to four trolleys due to seasonal reduction.

ROUTE 31 – AQUARIUM AND CAMPGROUND SHUTTLE

Seasonal service ends.

ROUTE 32 – SHOPPERS SHUTTLE

Seasonal service ends September 2.

ROUTE 34 – OCEANA TOUR

Route eliminated due to new Federal Transit Administration regulations.

ROUTE 110 - THOMAS NELSON COMMUNITY COLLEGE- SCHEDULE CHANGE

Times between Big Bethel Road and Todds Lane to Hampton Transportation Center (HTC) have been adjusted for better connectivity during weekdays and Saturdays. All trips from Big Bethel Road and Todds Lane will be adjusted.

Trips from Big Bethel Road and Todds Lane will depart at :08 after the hour

Trips from the NET Center will depart at :15 after the hour.

Trips from Briarfield and Aberdeen will depart at :25 after the hour.

Trips from LaSalle and Michigan will depart at :30 after the hour.

Trips from HTC will depart at :40 after the hour.

ROUTES 19 AND 22

Effective October 6, 2008

Please be advised Routes 19 & 22 will become MAX Routes 919 and 922 starting October 6, 2008. There will not be any routing or scheduling changes.

MAX Exchange Program:

Through October 31, 2008, customers may come to one of HRT’s service centers to exchange unused farecards purchased in 2008 for a dollar for dollar exchange value. For example, two unused 10-Ride passes will credit $28.00 toward the purchase of MAX farecards. No refunds allowed.

  • A MAX Day pass is available upon boarding for $5.50. Passengers must inform the driver prior to depositing fare of Day Pass request.
  • All non-MAX farecards will be accepted on the MAX with the payment of an upgrade fee.
  • Transfers and 10-Ride farecards will be eliminated October 6, 2008. Passengers are encouraged to purchase a MAX Day pass or MAX 30 Day pass.
  • HRT will stop selling 10-Ride farecards September 15, 2008.

GUARANTEED RIDE FARE CHANGE

Effective September 1, 2008

Please be advised effective September 1, 2008 the guaranteed ride cab fare of $1.50 per trip will increase to $3.00 per trip for all participants of the Traffix Guaranteed Ride Program. Registered participants are still allowed up to four trips per month, not to exceed twenty-four trips per year.
