The Great Chocolate 5K and 10K

Starting at 7:00 AM until approximately 10:00 AM the City of Hampton will be hosting the The Great Chocolate Race (5K and 10K). Patrons are advised to expect delays and possible police detours on the Routes 101, 103, 109, 110117, 118120 and 961.

Customer Service Phone Line System Maintenance

Starting at 6:00 PM, the Customer Service phone line 222-6100 will under go some system maintenance. While Customer Service will remain available, patrons should be aware that there may be some minor hold time delays, technical issues, and/or short term outages. The automated Voice System will still be available for route times, and schedules will also be available online.

Rescheduled Liberty Street Transfer Station Public Meeting

Due to the upcoming removal and replacement of the 22nd Street Bridge, the current HRT Bus Transfer area along Seaboard Ave. must be relocated.  The City of Chesapeake will be holding a public meeting to review the proposed location along Liberty Street.

Route 58 will provide closest service to the library, but it is within walking distance of the existing Seaboard Ave Transfer Area, which is also serviced by the Routes 6, 12, 13

Route 44 Temporary Stops

For the duration of the construction detour in the Turnpike area of Portsmouth, the Route 44 will provide service to the Bart St Wal-mart. The Outbound (to Victory Crossing) 44 will stop at the existing Route 43 shelter. The Inbound (to Norfolk General) 44 will service a new temporary stop on the same side as Wal-Mart.

Route 14 Permanent Adjustments

Due to ongoing development in the Cedar Road & Dominion Blvd area the following detour will be made permanent to the Route 14.

Route 14 Detour

Outbound (to Wal-mart/TCC) via Cedar Rd:

L – First Stop Light (landmark: Taco Bell)
R – Service Lane (just past Taco Bell)

In the upcoming weeks, a new stop will be placed near Cedar Rd & Bells Mill on the Outbound (to TCC) side of the road, to replace the removed stop.

Route 109 Schedule Misprint

The printed outbound Route 109 Saturday schedule has two evening trips which were printed in error, the last service leaving the Hampton station is at 7:47 PM.

The following outbound Saturday trips are incorrect and will not be serviced:

Hampton Blvd Temporary Stop Removal

Due to ongoing construction on Hampton Boulevard and safety issues the following Route 2 and 21 bus stops cannot be serviced until further notice:

Passengers may board/disembark at Hampton & Baker(0248) or Hampton & Runnymede(0253)

Military Highway and Northampton Blvd Blockage

For approximately the next month, nightly starting a 9:00 PM the Routes 15 and 23 will detour due to construction.Route 15 Patrons are advised to board/disembark at either Robin Hood & Almeda or Lowery & Security (Farm Fresh). Route 23 patrons are advised to board/disembark at either Lowery & Security (Farm Fresh) or Princess Anne & Gabriel.

Norfolk Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial March

From 7:00 AM until approximately 1:00 PM a memorial ceremony and march will be held in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., causing portions of Church St. from Virginia Beach Blvd to Brambleton Ave. to be periodically blocked. Patrons are advised to prepare for occasional delays and detours on the the routes 4, 9, 13, 18, 960 and to plan accordingly.
