Military Highway and Northampton Blvd Blockage

For approximately the next month, nightly starting a 9:00 PM the Routes 15 and 23 will detour due to construction.Route 15 Patrons are advised to board/disembark at either Robin Hood & Almeda or Lowery & Security (Farm Fresh). Route 23 patrons are advised to board/disembark at either Lowery & Security (Farm Fresh) or Princess Anne & Gabriel.

Norfolk Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial March

From 7:00 AM until approximately 1:00 PM a memorial ceremony and march will be held in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., causing portions of Church St. from Virginia Beach Blvd to Brambleton Ave. to be periodically blocked. Patrons are advised to prepare for occasional delays and detours on the the routes 4, 9, 13, 18, 960 and to plan accordingly.

Military Highway and Lowery Stop Reopening

The stop located at Military Highway and Lowery (# 0913), which had been previously blocked by construction will be reopening on Sunday, January 15th. A set of fences and guides have been placed to allow safe boarding and disembarking for our patrons.

Automated Voice System Error

The Automated Voice System which provides route times on the 757-222-6100 line has a technical issue causing it to give incorrect information for the following routes: 1558101116918961 and 966 .  While the issue is being corrected, patrons are advised to use the online schedules, or ask a customer service representative for assistance.

January Service Changes

System Wide

As part of Hampton Roads Transit’s commitment to improving schedule reliability.

All services will no longer send or receive requests to hold.

This will enable service to depart according the posted schedule.

South Side

Route 25

Minor service adjustment to improve schedule adherence

Route 33

Routing in and out of 19th St and Arctic Transfer Area adjusted to improve performance, when traveling to/from 68th St.

Route 55

Schedule adjustment: The last three trips departing Greenbrier Mall will be adjusted to improve transfer connections at Robert Hall.

Route 57

Time point adjustment:  The end of the line time point will be changed from Sunkist Rd/Airline Blvd. to Airline Blvd. and Quailshire Ln.

Route 58

Routing change.  Route 58 will operate permanently via Libertyville Road.  Service along Mullen Rd. and Mains Creek Rd. will be discontinued.

Robert Hall Transfer Area

The Robert Hall Transfer Area will be divided into two zones, facilitating easier and speedier loading/unloading for patrons. Zone A will provide service to the routes 14, 55, 57, 58  . Zone B will will provide service to routes 6 ,13, 15.

North Side

Route 101

Schedule adjustment:  Improve schedule efficiency on Sunday.

Route 107

Improve transfer connections at Patrick Henry Mall.

Route 111

Routing change. Traveling from Thomas Nelson Community College to Fishing Point transfer location, Route 111 will operate via Jefferson Ave. to Thimble Shoals Blvd. to Fishing Point Dr.

A new bus stop will be placed opposite the existing shelters. Patrons traveling towards Patrick Henry on the 111 will board at the new location. Patrons traveling towards Thomas Nelson, will board at the existing shelter.

Eliminated due to low ridership

Tuesday Snow Route Service

On Tuesday, January 10th, Hampton Roads Transit will operate its Snow Route Service, due to continued poor road conditions in many areas.

Paratransit will not operate.  Customer Service will be available from 7 AM to 5 PM.

All Service Suspended

Due to the inclement weather and poor travel conditions all service is suspended for Saturday, January 7th and Sunday, January 8th.
